This notice is published under Act no. 2008-08 of 25 January 2008 on electronic transactions, which requires anyone publishing an online communication service to be identifiable.

Publisher of the site

This site is published by the Centre d’Archivage et de Documentation Féministe (CDAF), whose registered office is in Dakar, Republic of Senegal.

Purpose of the site

The site gives access to the centre’s documentary collection: photographs, video, sound recordings and written documents relating to the history of women and of feminist movements. It offers online consultation of part of that collection, a member area, and information about the centre’s activities.

Intellectual property

Archive documents published on this site remain the property of their authors, their rights holders or their depositors. The centre preserves and publishes them on the terms agreed with those parties.

Each item states its own conditions of reuse, in accordance with Act no. 2008-09 of 25 January 2008 on copyright and related rights. Those conditions prevail over any general statement. Where none is given, an item must be treated as protected and its reuse subject to prior authorisation.

Any reproduction of an item must carry the citation given in its record.

The structure of the site, its visual identity, its editorial texts and its code are protected on the same footing. Reproducing them without authorisation is prohibited.

Reporting a document

An archive may show an identifiable person, or infringe a right without the centre being aware of it. Anyone concerned may ask for an item to be withdrawn or access restricted by writing to the centre, quoting the reference of the document and the grounds for the request. The centre examines every report and gives a reasoned reply.

Governing law

This notice is governed by Senegalese law. Any dispute relating to use of the site falls within the jurisdiction of the Senegalese courts.
